I’ve jump off the Mailchimp ship and climbed on board Substack. I’m still finding my way here, but so far it seems doable. So why the change? Well, Mailchimp almost doubled in price, and since my following is fairly stable and definitely not in the thousands, I couldn’t figure out how they were calculating this rate increase.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I send a message out once a month, and that ties in with my monthly blog post for The Insecure Writers’ Support Group First Wednesday Hop. I didn’t mind the $15/month, but when it jumped to $26, I did mind.
I tried MailerLite, but I didn’t receive any responses to my last message, so I’m not sure it sent to my followers. I ran into a few problems while importing my mailing list, so I suspect that list was never uploaded.
Many frustrating hours later, I’ve landed here. I hope it works as well as MailChimp and that I can reach my readers again. It would be ever so wonderful to have a bit of time to actually work on my next project and not have to wrestle another email program into submission!
I’d love to hear what you think of this new platform, so shoot me an email and let me know. I’d really appreciate it. cleemckenzieATgmailDOTcom AND IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SET UP AN <A HREF MAIL LINK HERE I’D REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP!
If you want to read some of my work for free or buy at a reduced price, all my books are in the Smashword’s Fall-Winter Sale.
Sale ends July 31!
Sounds like you've done the right thing. And Hooray for the contract!
Congratulations on the new book. Looking forward to reading it. I'm happy with mailerlite, but still can have a free account. So that means I need to work harder to get more readers!
