Congratulations on Rattlesnake. Only 2 days to go before I get to read this enticing story. Keep writing those articles . . . and working out that next story!
I've skipped writing some reviews, and that's hard when I have an online relationship with the author. I know how important those reviews are. Being a writer puts a whole different twist on this reviewing business. A big reason is empathy.
I totally can relate. My second novel (4th to publish) was that way. Then I asked 'what if...(this thing I had assumed would happen didn't)?', and the plot was suddenly fixed.
Congratulations on your new release! Love the tagline!
Congratulations, Lee!!!
Congratulations on your new release!
Congrats on your book release. I'm like you and Alex. I don't review books I don't finish.
Congratulations on your new release!
I don't review books I didn't finish either.
That quote from Ebert is a good one to keep in mind when reviewing. And congrats on the new release!
I miss Ebert's movie reviews. They were always so interesting. Thanks for stopping by today.
Congrats on Rattlesnake! I love the premise. May you get many more 4-5 star reviews!!!
My fingers are crossed. Thanks, Lynda.

Appreciate the encouragement. It helps, Beth. And welcome to Substack.
Grats on the new release! Woot!
Yeah, if I leave a review, I'm going to be honest, but unlike you, I rarely review. I probably should be better about that.
Reviewing takes time, so I understand people not wanting to do it. I often postpone writing one just because I have so much else to do.
Congratulations on the new book release!
Honestly, I've always considered book reviews for the author first and for potential readers second. I've learned a lot through this month's question.
Interesting. I've always been the opposite. Maybe there's a happy medium.
Good guidelines. I'm similar, but I do confess--I am a pushover. If I don't love a book (4 or 5/5), I don't review it. Sigh.
Congrats on your latest book. I have no doubt it will be an excellent read.
I admit to skipping a few just because I didn't want to be honest, so I'm a pushover at times, too.

Congrats on the new book release!
Thanks, Rebecca!
Congratulations on your book release and thanks for hosting this month's IWSG!
Thanks for following the link and commenting here. I really appreciate your taking the extra step.

Isn't it great when the "fix" arrives? I'm always terrified it won't. Glad yours did as well.
Congratulations on the release of Rattlesnake! Thank you for co-hosting IWSG today as well. There seems to be no end to your energy ;-)
You should see me today! I'm not a Red Bull person, but I'm thinking that could change at any minute!
I'm fairly stubborn in some areas, so I guess I just couldn't let this book defeat me. Thanks for the comment!
