Hope the issues are cleared up! My own publication tribulations are of my own making, and mostly have to do with me being no good at marketing. Though the last time I had an event at my old library, it was absolutely pouring and only 3 people came—one of them my husband. Since I moved, I haven’t made any connections for that sort of thing.
In a way, I envy you having a publisher who actually arranged book signings! Things have changed a lot, as I expect you know, and these days it seems one has to arrange everything oneself, which is almost as bad as having no books to sell. I too had to pay for books to be delivered just in time for a signing at a major B&N. Luckily, I bit the bullet and did it, because I sold 49 copies...

This book writing and publishing isn’t for the weak of heart. It takes endurance.

The journey has changed. That’s for sure, but it hasn’t become easier as you well know.
